King Fahad Medical City, sometimes known as “KFMC,” began as a ground-breaking concept realized. It was King Fahad bin Abdulaziz who adopted the idea. In 1403, or 1983, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Prince of the Riyadh region, laid the cornerstone of KFMC. The KFMC was established during the reign of King Fahad bin Abdulaziz, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. On August 21, 1425 H, or May 10, 2004, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince, gave it its official opening.
KFMC is well situated in the center of Saudi Arabia’s capital, Riyadh. With a total capacity of 1200 beds, KFMC is one of the largest and fastest-growing medical complexes in the Middle East. Its highly skilled and effective Technical Management Team is focused on achieving a single objective: elevating KFMC to the status of a model medical facility, to which patients from all over the region are referred for all treatment levels. It is a place where medical and professional expertise from various disciplines is gathered to provide assistance to patients, an estimated 500,000 outpatients and over 30,000 inpatients each year.
